Military Waste

Another good post from David Stockman’s blog, this time from Jon Basil Utley.  It describes specific areas where we are wasting government money on the military-industrial complex.  I would add to this that total military spending is much more of our country’s budget than reported by the MSM.  Not only do they frequently exclude the black budget (and military portions of other agencies’ budgets), but also we need to count all retired military benefits, including medical and retirement, and we need to count the interest on the portion of the national debt that has gone to military spending.  With all these items added in, military spending is in fact closer to half of our national budget.  Horrifying.  And it also means that the opportunities to save money are huge.
